Reopening on 13th May Lou Pinet retains its boho-chic essence as a hidden retreat with art woven throughout the hotel

Situated in the beautiful Saint-Tropez, beneath the pine trees and just steps from the iconic Place des Lices, Hôtel Lou Pinet reopens this May. This new chapter introduces a new art installation by sculptor Laurent Dufour in collaboration with Paris-based gallery Aurélien Gendras, as well as continuing to offer bespoke experiences for guests.

A Hideaway by Design

Designed by architect Charles Zana, the Maisons Pariente property offers a tranquil retreat. Here, the village’s vibrant energy and bustle fades into the background, giving way to a slower, relaxed pace that feels true to Saint-Tropez’s original, unhurried spirit.

The gardens set the tone on arrival, wrapping guests in a soothing Mediterranean embrace, with lavender, jasmine, and aromatic herbs woven together against a backdrop of pine trees. Shaded pathways and secluded corners make the grounds as much a destination as the interiors. At the heart of the property, the pool anchors the space, making it the perfect place to relax in the long summer days. Between gentle breezes and shifting light, guests settle into an atmosphere that is at once elegant and effortlessly serene, the very essence of Lou Pinet.

Inside Lou Pinet, the interiors are inspired by the rich tradition of Provençal decorative arts, referencing the legacy of artists drawn to the light of the South, from Matisse and Picasso to Calder. Natural materials such as linen, ceramic, rope, terracotta and raw lime create spaces that feel both grounded and luminous, resulting in an aesthetic that echoes the masters of the twentieth century such as Chagall and Cocteau. All 34 rooms and suites open onto a large private garden which provides stunning views. Furniture designed by French architect, Charles Zana, sits alongside original artworks and vintage finds, striking a balance between elegance and ease which is true to the Maisons Pariente experience.

Art in Residence

Art flows effortlessly through Lou Pinet, from its interiors to its gardens. A thoughtfully curated selection of contemporary works effortlessly sits in harmony with Saint-Tropez’s rich artistic heritage. Frescoes, sculptures, and paintings are placed throughout the spaces, adding a sense of quite elegance.

This summer, Lou Pinet welcomes gallery, Aurélien Gendras, for a seasonal residency, alongside a new installation by artist Laurent Dufour. Founded in 2015 and based at the Marché Paul Bert in Saint-Ouen, the Aurélien Gendras gallery specialises in modern and contemporary sculpture, with a particular focus on ceramics. It supports both emerging artists and the rediscovery of twentieth-century studio practices, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, material, and the physical presence of objects. Guests have the delight of seeing Laurent Dufour’s works, including his sculptural fireplaces, installed throughout the gardens at Lou Pinet.

Laurent Dufour is known for his glazed stoneware sculptures, which explore the relationship between material, form, and space. Through these works, he creates imagined narratives, linking interior and exterior worlds, the natural environment and his inner vision, as well as personal mythology and everyday experience. Each piece is unique and pushes beyond traditional notions of ceramics, treating it instead as a structural element within a space. Set throughout the gardens, his sculptures invite guests to wander and discover them at their own pace, striking works that feel both poetic and quietly powerful.

Wellness & Dining

Tucked away from the rest of the property, the spa is an intimate and private sanctuary. Carved in the style of a grotto, it offers a deeply restorative setting for a signature Lou Pinet treatment targeting tension-release and skin renewal. Meanwhile, the Head Spa by Leonor Greyl offers a sensory scalp ritual designed for relaxation and a quite moment of release.

The restaurant is a destination in its own right. Opening onto the gardens and pool, it carries the relaxed atmosphere of the property into a space that feels both welcoming and refined. At La Terrasse, lunch centres on a Mediterranean menu that is fresh, seasonal, and uncomplicated. In the evening, Beefbar becomes one of Saint-Tropez’s most in-demand dining spots, where high-quality ingredients and a generous, shareable style of dining come together with ease.

Bespoke Experiences

Beyond the property, Lou Pinet offers a curated selection of experiences designed to reveal Saint-Tropez in unexpected ways. With the support of an attentive concierge team, each stay is shaped around individual guest preferences, including exploring the market at Place des Lices, enjoying private wine tastings with local producers, or sharing a Champagne picnic amongst the vines.

Out on the water, a boat day allows guests to explore hidden coves and clear turquoise shallows. On land, visitors can discover the landscape by bicycle, electric car, or horseback, following trails through pine forests and along the coastline. For those looking for a broader perspective, a helicopter flight reveals the full sweep of the Gulf and peninsula. Each experience is organised and presented in a discreet and unhurried manner and is entirely tailored to the guest.

More than a hotel, Lou Pinet is a holiday home, a place to inhabit and feel. A quiet refuge where the most essential luxuries are rediscovered: calm, beauty, and restored time.
